Finance Training
This course is designed for individuals who use the PeopleSoft Financial and/or Cognos Reporting Systems. It is an instructor-led, hands-on training. If you would like to verify if this is a required training for your system access role, please review the Finance/Procurement Access Guide.
Finance & Report Training
This training will fulfill your requirements for:
- Financial Inquiry - Course #A00101 (Hybrid)
- Financial General Ledger - Course #A00102 (Hybrid)
In this training, you will learn about:
- Fund Accounting, ChartFields, JE creation, Cash Receipts
- The basics of Cognos Reports
This hands-on workshop will show you:
- How to access the Cognos Reporting System
- How to navigate from report to report and back again
- How to read the various reports
- How to identify the different transactions hitting your statement
The reports that will be reviewed are:
- m-Fin SpeedType Summary
- m-Fin Operating Summary
- m-Fin Financial Detail
- m-Fin Outstanding Encumbrance

Training Enrollment
Enrollment for training sessions is hosted through the university's learning management system, SkillSoft Percipio.
- Login to the UCCS Portal.
- Select the CU Resources Home tab at the top of the page.
- Select the Training tile.
- Select the Skillsoft Percipio tile.
- Navigate to the Library.
- Select UCCS then Instructor-led Training (ILT).
- Select the UCCS: Finance channel tile.
- Select the course(s) you would like to enroll in.
- This training is composed of two courses: Finance Inquiry and Finance General Ledger.
Additional Guidance
- If you are enrolling as a pre-requisite for requesting access to PeopleSoft Financial Systems, please ensure that you enroll in both courses.
- If you are enrolling as a refresher course or general interest, please feel free to enroll in one or both of the courses.
- Ensure you enroll in the courses hosted at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
